Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026 · Version 1.0

By using mdmin.dev or any associated APIs, tools, or browser extensions (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

mdmin provides rule-based markdown compression tools designed to reduce token usage when supplying text to large language models (LLMs). The Service includes a web application, REST API, CLI tool, MCP server, browser extension, and associated developer tools.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary algorithms beyond what open-source licenses permit
  • Abuse the API with excessive requests that degrade service for other users
  • Circumvent usage limits or authentication measures
  • Submit content that violates third-party intellectual property rights
  • Use the Service to process or store sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary

3. Free vs Pro Tiers

Free tier

Rule-based compression is free forever across all interfaces (web, API, CLI, MCP, extension). Free accounts may save up to 20 inputs to My Library. Compression history is available to all registered users.

Pro tier

Pro accounts receive Deep Compress (LLM-powered rewriting) and unlimited Library storage. Pro features require an active subscription.

We reserve the right to modify tier features with reasonable notice.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all text you submit to mdmin. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the compression service to you. We do not claim any rights to your content, do not use it to train AI models, and do not share it with third parties.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

5. No Warranty

The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that compression output will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Compression is a lossy-adjacent transformation — always review output before using it in production systems. We are not liable for any damages arising from reliance on compressed output.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mdmin shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account & Data. Deletion is immediate and permanent — all your data including compression history, saved inputs, and API keys will be removed and cannot be recovered.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in good faith before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
